Beyoncé is back inside the R&B top 10 with her surprise single Morning Dew (Donk). The latest weekly chart update places the song at No. 7 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, marking her first top 10 on the ranking in three years.
The July 4 release also opened at No. 3 on the Hot R&B Songs chart and No. 26 on the Hot 100. Its arrival gives Beyoncé another strong debut while beginning a new chapter connected to the 20th anniversary of her second studio album, B’Day.
Morning Dew (Donk) was released without a traditional promotional campaign and became Beyoncé’s first new song since the Cowboy Carter era. The track blends a relaxed R&B groove with lyrics centered on romance, attraction and the excitement of a lasting relationship.
The single is expected to appear on the upcoming anniversary edition of B’Day, scheduled for September 4. The project revisits the album that produced songs including Déjà Vu, Irreplaceable and Ring the Alarm, while adding new attention to a key period in Beyoncé’s solo career.
