At its next scheduled meeting, the Las Cruces Public Schools Board of Education will discuss a possible name change for Cesar Chavez Elementary School, a pre-K through third-grade campus on the city’s East Mesa.
The discussion follows recent allegations and concerns regarding the historical legacy of the person for whom the school is named.
The meeting will take place at 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 24 at the Dr. Karen M. Trujillo Administration Complex, 505 S. Main Street in Las Cruces. Those who cannot attend the meeting can watch the livestream, courtesy of LCPS-TV.
