Las Cruces firefighters extinguish a residential structure fire on Cedardale Drive.
A residential structure fire on Cedardale Drive caused damage to a home earlier today.
Just before 11 a.m. Tues., Feb. 24, firefighters were called to the 1000 block of Cedardale Drive. Upon arrival crews observed a large amount of smoke coming from the garage and attic of the residence. Firefighters quickly initiated an interior fire attack to contain and extinguish the blaze.
The fire was brought under control within 15 minutes, preventing further extension into the home. During a primary search of the residence, firefighters located one dog and two cats inside the structure. All three pets were safely removed. Their conditions are currently unknown.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. There were no injuries reported as a result of the incident.
