Las Cruces police issued 82 traffic citations during a one-hour operation Thursday morning along Elks Drive and north Main Street.
The Las Cruces Police Department’s Traffic Unit issued 82 citations during a one-hour enforcement operation Thursday morning along North Main Street and Elks Drive.
Of the 82 traffic citations, 37 were issued to motorists who exceeded the posted speed limit, 20 to drivers operating a motor vehicle without proper registration and 17 for driving with no proof of insurance.
Other citations issued during the operation were for miscellaneous traffic offenses such as driving without a license, using a cell phone while driving and having improper windshield tint.
The traffic enforcement operation began at 7:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, 2025, and lasted about one hour. Similar traffic enforcement operations will likely be held in the coming weeks.
